There are many sustainability challenges and opportunities facing our city, region, nation, and world. From economic vitality, living wages, and climate change to unemployment, child immunizations, and waste reduction, these challenges and opportunities sometimes seem overwhelming. The good news is by making more conscious and systemic choices we can and do make a difference. Changes aren't always easy though. So S2 is here to help. Sustainable Seattle has become an international expert in urban sustainability and indicators so we eager to share the experience we've gained from our many successes - and mistakes - to help others in their sustainability efforts.

Since our launch in 1991, we've found that some individuals, communities, organizations, businesses, and agencies are looking for more assistance in making sustainable choices than what is available through our traditional resources and programs. To this end, S2 offers a range of services that help individuals, communities, organizations, businesses, and agencies understand and and make more sustainable choices. Below you'll find information on our services:

General Consulting and Advising. S2 offers a sliding scale for our general consulting and advising services that range from facilitation and strategic planning to sustainable business advising and policy analysis.

Lectures, Presentations, and Panels. S2 staff, board members, and international advisors are available to lecture on sustainability, present on specific topics, and serve on panels. We've worked with middle schools, high schools, and colleges, as well as companies, organizations, and agencies ranging from very small boutiques and nonprofits to multinational corporations and international NGOs. We are happy to participate in such events pro-bono or, whenever possible, to receive speaking fees and/or honorariums that go to supporting our operations and programs.

Sustainability Education. S2 has many targeted education modules for education around sustainability. Our EPA Region 10 funded "Choose to Change" workshops for middle and high school students is one example. Other examples include our 'Sustainability 101' workshop that provides an overview of key sustainability concepts and our 'Sustainable Design Studio' that gives an overview of sustainable design while also engaging participants in a real-life design challenge. All of our sustainability education modules can be adapted to any group...students, community groups, businesses, etc. We generally offer a sliding scale fee for our education modules unless it supported by grant funding, such as our "Choose to Change" worshops.

Professional Development. S2 offers a wide range of professional development trainings and workshops in areas such as sustainable business and development (SBD), nonprofit management, and civic engagement. Popular trainings and workshops include: our 'Top 10 Sustainable Business Groundrules', 'Triple Target Sustainability' (a framework for sustainable business and development developed the Sustainable Style Foundation (SSF) that translates the triple bottom line concept into business vocabulary), and 'Ready, Set, Go' our how to guide for getting your nonprofit project or organizaiton up and running. We generally offer a sliding scale fee for our professional development trainings and workshops.
