Sustainable Seattle has a long tradition of recognizing the sustainability achievements of organizations, individuals, businesses, and government agencies in Seattle and the Puget Sound region. We are launching a certification program to help spur sustainable development of our region. It is based on the goals and indicators in B-Sustainable.org, a tool born of the Participatory Action Research or grassroots process. We will continue in our tradition of the Awards program in 2010, with awards to entities making progress towards our regions goals for sustainability. Certification will not be necessary for an award.  From 2001 to 2004 we presented our awards as the 'Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards (SCOLA). You can learn more about these awards here.

Our Foreign Correspondent offers news and information from cities around the world. The SCAN blog provides a grassroots vencue for citizens of the globe to communicate.

Sustainable Seattle Partnerships
Sustainable Seattle has a long history of working in partnership with other non-profit and for-cause entrepreneurs, as well as governmental agencies. We helped create the EPA's CARE program, were among the first on the Communities Count committee, and are currently working with others for the Call To Care initiative as well as other initiatives, projects and programs.
