Street-Level Research

Document Actions
Sustainable Seattle works with its community partners to conduct research into specific issues at the street-level. This research involves utilizing community volunteers and/or students to collect data about neighborhood concerns such as the mix of businesses in a neighborhood business district or the level of pedestrian activity in the business district. The specific issues examined depend on the interest of the community.

Pedestrian Counts

As part of our focus on creating thriving business districts, Sustainable Seattle enlisted the help of five students from the University of Washington's Service Learning program to conduct pedestrian counts at key intersections in the business districts our 10 partner neighborhoods.  These counts will be useful in understanding one important indicator of the health of the local business district - foot traffic!  To view the findings, click here.
