Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards

From 2001 to 2004, Sustainable Seattle presented the Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards to recognize the sustainability achievements of organizations in our community. These awards were presented to organizations, individuals, businesses and government agencies in recognition of their contributions to sustainable development in the Puget Sound region.

First Annual Awards - 2001

Sustainable Seattle held its First Annual Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards on October 20, 2001, at the Seattle Center's Rainier Room. "It's an exciting time in the Puget Sound region for issues of sustainability," said Ray Victurine, Executive Director of Sustainable Seattle. Award winners were selected based on five categories: Business, Government, Neighborhoods, Building and Social Justice


Second Annual Awards - 2002-03

The Second Annual Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards was in generously sponsor by Vulcan Inc. As part of our award ceremony Sustainable Seattle introduced participants to our interactive sustainability artwork, funded by the City of Seattle’s Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs.


Third Annual Awards - 2003-04

Sustainable Seattle presented its third annual Sustainable Community Outstanding Leadership Awards in May, 2004. The awards ceremony took place in conjunction with Net Impact's Spring Forum, featuring keynote speaker Paul Dolan of Fetzer Vineyards, on the University of Washington's campus in Seattle.
