Putting Sustainability Into Action
Between 2002 and 2004, under a generous grant from the Russell Family Foundation, Sustainable Seattle offered "Putting Sustainability into Action" to 74 classroom and reached 1186 young people. The workshop consisted of 1 or 2 day, hour-long lessons on the three E's of sustainability: Environment, Economics, and Equity. Students also had the opportunity to apply for mini-grants worth up to $500 toward a community or school project related to sustainability.
