*It is possible to register your entry anonymously, but entries registered as such will not be eligible for an award.
How to participate:
1. Form your team: Individuals, teams, community or neighborhood groups, families or friends are encouraged to join. People in grades K-12 are encouraged to compete through our separate school competition (link).
2. Register your entry. Cut and paste from above, or download registration form, You must include a brief description of your vision, your action plan, the title, and the medium of your entry. To complete registration, send in the completed form to dream@sustainableseattle.org (link) . You must register by September 10th, 2010. Forms submitted after the deadline will be publicized as part of the event but will not be eligible for an award.
2a. Choose at least one relevant goal (linked) to your vision from the B-sustainable.org information commons (join and login for full access).
2b. Formulate your vision for Seattle in the year 2100 and write it out on the registration form.
2c. Make a step-by-step action plan for achieving your vision by 2100, and
identify key actions necessary in the years 2020, 2050 and 2070.
3. Express your vision in the medium of your choice. From drawings and designs to dance troops and dialogues, participants are encouraged to express their vision - and the steps to get there - in conventional or unconventional ways, using a broad range of media. We will contact you to arrange for a means to capture your entry for history once you have registered.
4. Present your entry to the public during the weeks of September 24th to October 9th. Selected entries will be presented during the final event on October 10th, 2010. Depending on your medium of entry your vision will be on continuous display or scheduled to be performed or screened sometime during that timeframe. We will suggest the venues for display of entries however, you are encouraged to help identify locations (churches, libraries, cafes, centers, etc) that are open to the public and your community. We encourage you to use the competition as an opportunity to make lasting connections within your neighborhood and community.
5. Attend the final celebration event: The contest winners will be announced on October 10, 2010 at the Seattle Center Pavilion B.
Other information:
Eligibility: The competition is open to all people who live in the Puget Sound region. This includes the following counties: Island County; Jefferson County; King County; Kitsap County; Mason County; Pierce County; Skagit County; Snohomish County and Thurston.
Publicity: Contest entries will be publicized on the Sustainable Seattle website and other media. The details of individual entries will also be included in a special version of Sustainable Cascadia’s Sustainability Passport, which will be available during the competition week.
Fees: There is no registration fee for this competition.
Judging: Judges are community representatives who reflect a wide range of experiences and disciplines, and embody the four goals of the b- sustainable indicators. Click here to view the judges! Winning teams will be notified via email.
Criteria: Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: creativity, ability to inspire, relevance to the holistic nature of sustainability, and the quality of presentation. (Preliminary criteria are subject to change.)

Memorialization: Entries may be photographed, videotaped and/or otherwise recorded and publicly displayed. Use of materials will not be commercial.
